Yes, I have them shorted already, my question is to whether or not people have found a specific wire/item that shorts well. My problem with the wire I'm currently using is that it's flimsy and it's just a bunch of really thin copper wires braided together. The issue is the edges get frayed and it makes it difficult to short.

If you have a soldering iron you can melt some tin on the ends of the wire to make the little wires stick together.

Like the two bottom wires.

Have any of you guys found a good way to short the 1x slots on a mobo? I'm using just some insulated wire from a telephone cable, but it's not really super terrific. Have you found maybe like small paperclips or something that would be more sturdy?

I use a single wire out of an ethernet cable, works well for me.
