Cable extentions G Pro Headset

I have a pair of G Pro's I recently got on sale for $40, and they're fine, but the audio cable is way too short. It's got a 3.5mm cable that goes into a splitter for headphones and mic. I tried using a different 3.5mm cable for the unsplit part, but it really screwed up the audio.

 

Is there a solution to get another 3 feet of cable length without a noticeable reduction in audio quality?

Okay, so, before being split the cable used is 4 pole 3.5mm, the cable you were using is likely only three pole (count the stripes, it will be different). You could either extend each of the split three pole connections or buy a 4 pole extension cable (or just buy a longer cable).
