Have you ever considered combining a pc case and air filtration? The air cleaning could offset the cost of the system cooling, killing two birds with one stone.

Yes.  It requires a very large case.  I looked at doing it with a Honeywell “disk” air cleaner and a miniITX.  There wasn’t room for a video card.

One possibility is a full atx case (something rarely seen anymore.  They’re big’uns.  a bit like standard poodles) where the side panel is the air in using a furnace Hepa filter.  Big custom case. The problem is it would need an insane fan bank because those furnace filters require a bit of oomph to pull through.  Like 12 120s or something.

Not a pro, not even very good.  I’m just old and have time currently.  Assuming I know a lot about computers can be a mistake.

A shame really. Full atx is amazing especially for watercooling and just upgrades in general. I have a Rosewill Blackhawk Ultra that I will never trade in. The biggest thing I hate about cases today is the fucking glass side panel. Fuck off with that shit. I want airflow damnit. The Blackhawk Ultra has 3 230mm fans and 5 140mm fans out of the box (and wheels were included for free #AppleLaundersMoney). The mounting options and the room for twice as many fans is amazing. Sure, there are cases far larger than mine, but this one wasn't from a boutique place that costs as much as two kidneys. It only costed like, 130 USD.

You wanna see scared see someone looking at a standard poodle for the first time.  Miniature and toy poodles are much more popular.  A lot of people think that is what a poodle is.  Schnauzers are the same way.  Miniature schnauzers are much more common than the full size variety. A standard poodle is a big dog.

I'm just saying they're so ugly it's disgusting.

I dunno.  Standard poodles have an amazing gait.  You have a point though.  All the pointed nosed dogs are like that.

Honestly, I would definitely buy a case for this purpose. I was actually recently trying to think up a way to do it. I have a non modern full ATX case with 2 200mm and 1 140mm intake and outtake fans. I was thinking of sacrificing looks to get a HEPA filter in front of the intake fans. Problem is I'd need a powerful fan to get enough air through the filter to cool the components. And I'd have to remove some of the outtake fans so that I don't end up with a negative pressure system (with would negate the filters).

Imagine a box that is 2 feet in all dimensions.  It stands on 1 foot tall legs.  The sides of the box conceals the air filter that goes all the way across the bottom.  The computer is in the box itself and the air exhausts through the top.  4  plexiglass panes go up another 4 feet say.

Above the vents and in the plexiglass walls are wind mobiles that reflect the RGB lights that go up the corners of the plexiglass. There would be a million ways to do the mobiles, RGB, decals/cutouts what ever you want.
You have your computer, air cleaner and a art display case all in one ...

Complication is available filter sizes.  Air filters CAN be made in any size but they aren’t.   There are two sources: air filters and home  hvac.
