Very low temps

Hey I built a new PC today and was downloading some games when I decided to look at the temps. The CPU, a 8350 at 4 ghz, was at 8 C. The highest it got to was 18 C .I am using a hyper 212 evo. Is this normal? or is there something wrong?

AMD temp sensors are hit or miss for the most part

if your room is cold and it was idle (only downloading stuff) then that is normal.

 

at extreme temperatures in both direction (55c reference point) from real temperatures the AMD sensors become increasingly more inaccurate.

I think below 30c, the temps are pretty inaccurate. Under load temps are more accurate.

I got these temps with corsair's link (as I have a H80i), yeah they aren't accurate

It is a quite common problem. Try measuring the temperature with CoreTemp/RealTemp

I was using Speccy, that's why I was so supprised

It is a quite common problem. Try measuring the temperature with CoreTemp/RealTemp

In my experience CoreTemp is always wrong with AMD CPUs more recent than the AM2+ socket, so use something else like HWiNFO32.
