looking for a ram upgrade

my friend was looking for a RAM upgrade and asked me if I could look for one that would be good for his pc.

 

the base price of his pc was around 900$

He upgraded his gpu to a GTX 1060 6gb 

and added a second 8 gb ram stick to his pc. the problem is that it was not the same ram as the one he already had in his pc.

 

I was looking for a RAM stick on the qvl of his mobo and found that his mobo can go up to 3400 mhz.

I personally was looking for a 3200mhz ram stick so it would also be better for when he wanted to upgrade his cpu.

 

this is the ram I wanted to go with but im not the best pc builder myself and wanted to ask for some help with this.

RAM: CMK16GX4M2B3200C16, Vengeance LPX, XMP

MOBO: h170 pro gaming (asus)

Vengeance is always a solid choice.

Yes. Make sure to enable XMP in Bios to get the speed
