2 Display Port Cables Simultaneously

Do anyone have any info on using 2 Display Port cables at the same time on the same display ? Specific use case being overclocking ultrawide monitor to 144Hz. I have seen it done in youtube videos and heard reference to using 2 DP cables simultaneously . However I have searched and searched and cannot find any information about it. I'm interested in the details of use, such as do I have to use 2 DisplayPort 1.4 cables? Will one 1.4 and one 1.2 work? Will it work with any monitor that has the inputs? Do you have adjust the settings in windows for it?

It's only possible on monitors that support that type of operation, which is just a handful of high-resolution monitors, such as the XV273K which is a 4K 144 Hz monitors, which requires 2 DP cables to run at the full format. It's not something you can do on just any monitor.

Display manufactures tend to only allow the customers use 2 display port cables simultaneously if and only 1 is not enough e.g. Dell UP2715K which is actually two panels in one housing.

Yeah I didn't think so, which is why I didn't bother of going through the trouble of trying with my monitor.

The reason I asked is because when I overclock my ultrawide to 144Hz the colors in windows get washed out which I understand is a limitation of the DP 1.4 cable I use.

Not a big deal if I can't because there really isn't much of an advantage to overclocking it just for windows.
