Computer turns on but no post

Go to solution Solved by JJCooper_,

Ye you should upgrade. Regarding your Mobo, its a first gen Mobo. When you wiped the CMOS, the board lost the BIOS update for second and third gen.

And an x570 or b450 will do you good

Hello there, I just received my new AMD Ryzen 5 and put it in my computer however when I turned it on fans started spinning but no post! There was also a CPU debug led so im certain it is the CPU. After I tried reseating the CPU and clearing CMOS, scouring the internet to find the solution and after a while I think the solution is I need to update my BIOS. However now when I put back my AMD Ryzen 3 my pc starts up and all but no post! Im pretty desperate as I cant do online classes without my pc! Thank you in advance.

If you have Zen 2 (3rd gen ) it's very unlikely you have a b350 that supports it

PC: Motherboard: ASUS B550M TUF-Plus, CPU: Ryzen 3 3100, CPU Cooler: Arctic Freezer 34, GPU: GIGABYTE WindForce GTX1650S, RAM: HyperX Fury RGB 2x8GB 3200 CL16, Case, CoolerMaster MB311L ARGB, Boot Drive: 250GB MX500, Game Drive: WD Blue 1TB 7200RPM HDD.

Peripherals: GK61 (Optical Gateron Red) with Mistel White/Orange keycaps, Logitech G102 (Purple), BitWit Ensemble Grey Deskpad.

Audio: Logitech G432, Moondrop Starfield, Mic: Razer Siren Mini (White).

Phone: Pixel 3a (Purple-ish).

Agree.

But they had a Ryzen 3 that could have updated the BIOS with. I'm more concerned about the CMOS being done wrong. If it failed, it could have potentially messed up his BIOS so his Ryzen 3 wouldn't be recognised.

Sorry for bothering you again. But is this compatible with my cpu?

It's not a great board

But if it's new stock it should be

For b450 I recommend something like the tomahawk

Or the ds3h is also a really cheap good option that does support zen 2

Never heard of it but it does have a 6 phase power delivery with a heatsink

Looks good for me as long as you have (zen or zen + cpu's or in other words 1st Gen or 2nd gen )

But won't support zen 2 (3rd gen ) out of the box
