Upgrade my PC - worth it?

Specs:

i5 3470

8GB RAM

HD7970

 

Maybe I can buy used GTX1080 and if my processor was create some problem, maybe I can buy used I7 3770 and upgrade to 16GB RAM.

maybe all of this are 400$.

 

Worth it? and maybe I create some custom loop on my system for 300$.

A custom loop for an 3770 isnt worth it, spend the 300$ on new components and keep it air.

maybe a "cheap" B550 board 16GB of Ram a R5 3600 an a used gtx 1080 could be possible for 700$

Don't buy the GTX 1080. You will have a HUMONGOUS CPU bottleneck (people are complaining of PCU bottlenecks with a 5th gen i7 and a 1070. Buy like an RX 580/590 and the best CPU compatible with ur mobo (also the RAM upgrade, but unless ur current kit is really high frequency, you need to buy a 4x4 or 2x8GB of really high frequency memory. If your kit is already really high in MHz, buy another kit of the exact same size, MHz, and CL. Mobos will take the least common denominator of your all the RAM sticks if they are different. That means it will run all the sticks with the lowest frequency, smallest size, and highest CL. NOT GOOD)

That depends on the game more than anything really... =/ (for most games a i7-3770 will be fine combined with a 1070 or 1080...

Yes it is but there is no reason for spending 300$ to build a custom loop for an 3 gen non K i7... and a gtx 1080 would be a bit of an overkill for a 3770

I say get a cheaper cooler for the i7-3770K if you go that route. UwU (a large air cooler should do nice)

Upgrades are upgrades. You get to keep the case, storage, PSU, and a couple of other things. A 3600 or even the new 3300X would pair with a 1080 much much better than a 3770k.
