Looking to upgrade from my current 4790k and possibly go for the 3700x to pair with my 2080 super, would this be a good match? And what mobo and memory should i get to compliment it?

Cpu good choice

ram: 3200 or 3600 MHz 16GB kit (low cas)

4790k is still competent till this day with really good ipc for what it is 

I recco waiting a bit to see what options are gonna come out 

Unless your in a dire situation I which the 3700x is perfectly good and will pair nicely with that 2080 super :D

Yes it would but I still recommend waiting for zen 3 and if you didn't like what zen 3 has to offer you can get a 3700x for even cheaper
