Hello, i currently have an i5 6600k and an MSI RX480 GAMING X and i have the CPU overclocked to 4.10 and the RAM to 2800Mhz.

I made this build by myself 3 years ago ( i guess ) but now it's time to upgrade.

I enjoy play some esports games (League of legends, Valorant, PUBG), minecraft, and some single player ones The Witcher 3 and Assassins creed ( Love those games, im an gigantic fan).

Assassins Odyssey is almost unplayable, i know that the optimization is bad but i want to have the best experience possible from that game and from the new one.

What upgrade do u guys think i should aim for first ? GPU or CPU+MOBO+RAM ? Should i upgrade know or wait for the next gen ?

Im happy by getting something btw an i5 or an R5 since going higher would just be an waste of money (i don't have much but im going to save the max i can) and the gpu something like an RX5700 or an Nvidia similar card. (

Ps: I'm not an FanBoy so i just want to buy the best without wasting much money.

This is my pc --> https://valid.x86.fr/fb8xnu

surprised pubg is playable for you. it sure isn't on my 6600k. i am in the exact same spot as you, and i personally am waiting for next gen to either buy a next gen, or get a good deal on a 9th gen, or zen 2. i would recommenced going for a new cpu first, as the 6600k is going to bottleneck any gpu you put in it. unless you find a good deal on a gpu, then go for that first.

Should probably upgrade to 32 gigs for batter gameplay on assasins creed

Lol no, you don't need 32 GB of RAM for gaming.

Main Rig :

Ryzen 7 2700X | Powercolor Red Devil RX 580 8 GB | Gigabyte AB350M Gaming 3 | 16 GB TeamGroup Elite 2400MHz | Samsung 750 EVO 240 GB | HGST 7200 RPM 1 TB | Seasonic M12II EVO | CoolerMaster Q300L | Dell U2518D | Dell P2217H |

Laptop :

Thinkpad X230 | i5 3320M | 8 GB DDR3 | V-Gen 128 GB SSD |

How much money are you willing to spend for the upgrade?
When playing games, is the GPU, CPU, or both pinned to 100%?

At Assassins Creed both the CPU and the GPU are at 100%.
When i made this computer i tried to balance it the max i could.

Do u guys think its worth buying something right now ? Or i better wait for the next gen ?

I currently have 2 ideas:

1º Buy the GPU (something like an GTX 1660TI or an RX5600XT) now and wait for the next intel gen (i can re-utilize my water cooler with that socket, and the leaks from the new gen looks pretty good),
or
2º Buy something like an R5 3600 with an B450 TOMAHAWK MAX now ( i can re-utilize my water Cooler by buying the adapter to this socket for 3€) and wait for the AMD or NVIDIA next gen.

With the second idea i should also buy an new RAM KIT since mine only have 2400Mhz and even with the stable 2800Mhz overlock it would bottleneck since Ryzen require at least 3200Mhz for optimal performance.

I only have interested into gaming in 1080p and i have two monitors,

one with 144Hz, FreeSync and 1080p.

and a normal 1ms 1080p monitor.

But the B550 board will be compatible with future Ryzen 4000.
