New to Android...first timer suggestions?

I just bought my first Android phone, a OnePlus 8 pro and it will be here in a few days.

 

Does any one have any new to android / IOS conversion recommendations or tip/tricks?

 

Things to go and do that my iPhone never could?

Emulators are fun if youre into old games. I installed a gameboy emulator so I can play Pokemon on my phone. The best thing is all the games are offline so I wont have to worry about internet connection and if Im travelling I can always use my power bank if my battery is low. If youre looking for quality power bank, you should visit this website.

Yeah until they pull it due to privacy concerns.

Honestly I disagree that you should try to customise the experience right away. You probably want to get used to whatever OnePlus ships, then swap out the bits you don't like, unless there is something you hate out-of-the-box. If you try to install new icon packs and launchers now then you have no way of knowing that you actually like them better than the default.

I would like to point out some in-built features found in OnePlus 8 Pro(and most of the Android UIs in general).

 

1. Parallel Space and Parallel Apps- Suppose you want to keep your professional and personal apps/contacts seperate on your phone. You can do that by using this feature. Parallel Space is just like having two devices within one. You can use 2 WhatsApp accounts, 2 contact lists, 2 Facebook, Instagram, etc by enabling this feature. You can also protect the second space by enabling password, pattern, PIN or Fingerprint unlock methods. 

All you need to do is- Head over to the settings ----> Search Parallel Apps/Space on the Search Bar -----> Enable Parallel Space/Choose apps that you would like to have 2 copies of.

 

2. Split Screen Multitasking- This feature allows you to split the screen into two parts and run two apps simultaneously. This is very helpful in instances where one needs to constantly juggle between two apps. 

 

3. High Refresh Rate/ Higher Resolution- OnePlus 8 Pro supports upto 120 Hz refresh rate at the maximum possible resolution (2k) on the phone. You can also turn down the refresh rate and/or resolution in case you want to conserve the battery. Head over to Advanced Settings under Display Settings to find those options.
