So I got the ATH-M40x....

The GameDAC is primarily a DAC, or digital to analog converter, not an amplifier. It isn't intended to directly run headphones other than very low power ones like the average gaming headset. You'd need to add an amplifier after the GameDAC to increase the volume. Another option would be to simply use a longer audio cable directly from your computer. Is the 3m cable that comes with the ATH-M40x too short?

Hello LTT, I recently switched from headsets to a proper headphones and Mic setup

simply because I want better quality, now I owned an Arctis Pro + Gamedac for a while now and when I plug in my ATH-M40x into the PC the audio is fine, but because of the awkward angle of the PC the cables

go above my keyboard and mouse and its annoying, I thought of using the gamedac as a way to rout the cable through it and then to the PC through the optical+USB cables and annoyingly the audio became quieter

is there any possible way I can make it louder? I maxed out all of my windows audio settings and it still is mediocre

Using an acronym then spelling it out is very metal gear. The ath m40 is a low power requirement headphone, and will not have an issue with the gamedac if the gamedac has a feature set you are after.
