How to setup using only a single Actiontec MoCa Adapter

TL;DR: You need a modem, not a MoCa adapter.

That’s not how it works. You need a modem between the wall connection and the router to convert the signal from the ISP to something the router will understand. You connect the coax cable to the modem, then use an Ethernet cable between the modem and router. The MoCa adapter is used to run Ethernet (the protocol) over a coax cable. You need an adapter on both ends. Essentially it is used when you want to have an internet connection between two rooms and you already have a coax cable running between the rooms, but not Ethernet.

How to setup a single Actiontec MoCa Adapter to convert a coaxial cable connection to ethernet to go into the Asus GT-AX11000 router.

Is it possible to make this work with a single adapter or do I need to buy another adapter?

My internet ISP is different from my satellite TV provider. I have a coaxial cable installed by my ISP coming straight into my room and I need to connect it to my new router that doesn't have a coax port.

Currently I'm trying to setup the adapter but I can't get the coax light to turn on. I need someone's help.

Please help me.
