Hi all!

Looking at getting a new laptop for gaming, watching video and general stuff, doesn't need to be too portable but some degree is preferable. I've mainly been playing skyrim, football manager and the witcher on an old Toshiba so my current experience is very low. Main things I'm after are not overheating, and being a smooth playing experience. I have an external SSD so storage isn't an issue, I'd be willing to compromise on this. Is it worth getting a new machine or would getting a higher-end older model be more cost efficient?

My budget is maximum of £1000 (about $1100 I think, but would need to be available in UK).

Thanks :)
