Can I ask would the screen get worst and spread since structure integrity is compromised?

Most expoxies aren't conductive so even if it gets inside you should be fine.

On a phone that might be a concern, but unless you move your monitor a lot you should be fine

are shards of glass safe? turn the machine off before gluing it and turn it on only after it dries.

Yeah. it's a pane of glass. the only correct way to fix it is replace the screen
