Help me out pls

Go to solution Solved by MrBrightSyde,

Either the Scythe Ninja 5, Mugen 5, or Fuma 2 are going to be your best bets.

The Ninja 5 is the quietest and coolest, but if you want to actually see your RAM (or add more/replace it later), the Fuma 2 and Mugen 5 are better.

Soo im not sure which cooler route to take, With my CPU being a 3600x ive been juggling between getting either a Noctua NH-U12S  or the Noctua NH-U12A

Im going to OC it to 4.2 and tbh the stock cooler is loud soo i dont want to keep it.

But let me know if any of those coolers would be able to keep my temps down when running AAA games

The slim version allows for more obstruction around the CPU, like very tall/crowded RAM etc because it is smaller (thinner)

do you think i should get the Scythe Mugen 5 Rev.B CPU Air Cooler, 120mm instead or should i stick with the noctua one

well im not sure then, but the slimmer still does the job of cooling down that CPU right?

They both will do fine, but I would imagine the S would have slightly higher temps due to less surface area to disipate heat.

I always recommend the best cooler you can afford. The scythe seems to be about the same cooling wise as the U12, after a couple minutes of googling, so it comes down to cost/looks. The Noctua gets you an extra fan, but double the price vs the scythe is a big pill to swallow. If you are spending that much, get a Noctua D15 if you can fit it instead of the U12.

What are your specs other than the 3600x?

You don't need to spend $90 on a cooler, the $40 scythe will do fine.

How tall of RAM?

Its a figure of speech. Its difficult to justify spending $90 on a U12 when you can spend $40 on a Scythe and get pretty similar performance. The U12 might be quieter though. It just depends on your budget and preferences.
