Hey, quick question

I’ve got an i7 3770 3.4ghz

And my current GPU has died,

I have a replacement but am unsure if it’ll work with my PSU

PSU is a Corsair CX 450M

so dual six pin for PCIE

will it work, or am I going to run into power issues for the rest of the system

Dataland R9 270

Well according to my local eshop that I normally use... The GPU requires a 500W PSU, HOWEVER... They have quite a bit of margin so it should run with 450W.

Unless you have a lot of RGB, overclocking or generally a lot of things that draws power from the PC.

EDIT: Also if the PSU is very old it may have a problem.

It’s within 5 yrs old and I had boughten it new - the new case I’m moving everything into does have a 240mm and two 120mm fans w/ RGB so it seems an upgraded PSU is in order

I think you'll be fine but if upgrading PSU is an option then it will be best to do so.

Hehe if you do that you should have plenty of room in the case. :P

Well 3rd gen I7 and R9 270 are quite old. If you can, I say build yourself a nice new machine. Just set up a budget and maybe save up for a little bit. People ask for recommendations based on budget around these boards all the time and they get sound and good advice.
