second nvidia gpu disabled code 43

it was the new cable, ordered another from different seller, thanks

Hi system specs are in my signature, I installed a 2nd gtx1080 into my system but windows is disabling it

 

"device is not working properly error code 43"

 

It is physically installed correctly and I have removed my drivers.

 

Any help would be appreciated

Which PCI-E X16 slot is the second card installed into?

You need to use the red slots, as those are from the 16 PCI-E 3.0 lanes coming from the CPU.

The black slot is PCI-E X16 physically, but ELECTRICALLY X4, and is through the Z97 chipset.

they are in the correct slots, its my original card that is refusing to enable so I know both cards work, Is it possible its the slot?

Error code 43 can point to physical hardware problem(s).

I'd check the PCI-E slots, and PCI-E X16 connector on the GPU itself.

Maybe the PCI-E power connectors as well.

swapped the gpu's and can confirm both are working, its a new cable for the card that isnt working
