Hello,

I have a Soundblaster X7, a modmic uni ( 3.5 mm jack) and a pair of Beyerdynamic DT990. I currently just have the soundblaster connected to the pc and plug the Beyer's in for video game audio. When I put the modmic into the microphone jack (hole) it doesn't work. Even when I go to sound settings and have it has line in or any of the other options it still wont work.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Has it worked in the past or is this the first time you've tried using it?
You need to isolate the issue, see if the X7 or Modmic is the broken one by using the modmic with another PC or phone, if you don't have another mic laying around you can use dynamic headphones as a makeshift microphone. If the modmic is broken you can replace it, if the X7 is broken you can get a refund/replacement.
It's also possible that there's a software issue but I have no experience with that DAC ad wouldn't know where to begin to troubleshoot.

This is why I buy audio interfaces over standalone DACs and amps, stable, bulletproof and still sound great.
