So just bought a gt 1030 and added 2 moniters and I want to add a third I know 3's overkill but dont worry bout that my computer doesn't have onboard graphics so I can't plug a other moniter in like that so would I be able to plug in a gt 710 that I have laying around and use it to plug in a 3rd moniter?

i think you can, but you're probably better off just returning the 1030 and getting a GPU that has the required number of display outs.

think most rx 550/560/570's are inexpensive and can do 3

It depends on the motherboard.

However anecdotally, my pre-built computer does support using the onboard GPU at the same time as my dedicated GPU.

If you have the GPU with you, you can try it.

if you enable IGPU and GPU, you can connect up to 8 monitors

Assuming their cpu has onboard.
