Hey everybody, looking for advice on doing a build in 2020.

My last build I did was back in 2016. Its an i7 6700k in an Asus Sabertooth z170s, 32gb of Dominator Platinum, gtx 950. So it was a solid build but just isn't keeping up with newer games anymore and doesn't push the frame rates I want.

For reference, my end goal is to be able to run most games 120-144hz at 1440p. So at this point I am weighing the pros and cons of picking up either an i7 9700k or i9 9900k OR if it would be best for me to wait to grab one of the 10th gen processors.

Planning on running a gtx 2080 or 2080 super. Also haven't looked at benchmarks for Ryzen, I want to overclock to the mid/high 4.5ghz to 5ghz range and not sure if they can handle that. Any information you could give would be great. Also need info on if a 5ghz processor would be fine on Air Cooling or AIO. Wanting to do custom loop for the first time but with wanting to do it with Hydro X so I'm debating if the extra thousand dollars is actually worth it.
