I have just bought a AMD RYZEN 5 2600 SIX CORE 3.9GHZ, GIGABYTE B450M DS3H MOTHERBOARD CPU Bundle. I won't say from who. When I picked it there was a drop down menu for memory. I picked based on what I could afford. Arrived today. Cpu, fan and memory installed. I normally build myslef but this bundle was on offer and came built.

So after installation I got no beep no post.  much investigation later with all troubleshooting steps, cmos seating everything and so on. due to a post on this site,( linked) I came to the conclusion there is something up with the ram. Checked the boards qvl list. Would you believe it the ram is not on it. My question is should I be able to select a non compatible ram from a drop down menu on a tech company's Web site? And should I get a refund or replacement

Try single stick of ram and try moving it to different slots.

Also what graphics card are you using?

I've tried both sticks as single single of ram in every slot. Ive also tried with no graphics card just the mother board. The card I have is a msi gtx 1660 super.

It has also been a while since I handled a board. Thinking I may have fried it. I use the touch your psu method to ground myslef. So pulled the old board back out the corner it was in. Jammed it in and worked no bother.
