So I've looked all over my power management, And I see the utilization score on my cpu is 3.99ghz, on a i7-6700k. I would like to know if it would be possible on where I can find out to let it go to a boost clock of 4.2ghz. I have my power plan on maximum performance. Would it have something to do with bios? My core voltage is averaging around 1.2V, And the board im rocking with is a MSI B150 PC MATE. with a Bios Version being the latest of C.E0 (06/27/18). I would love my pc to perform at turbo boost when necessary. Do I need to clean out my computer? Reinstall the cpu, new thermal paste or delid it? Thanks.

It is likely in the BIOS somewhere... But trubo boost should be on by default, so I am not really sure why it wouldn't be boosting.

How are you monitoring clock speed to know it is in fact not boosting past 4 GHz? Don't use Windows Task Manager, it can lie... Use something like HWinfo64 or something.

Under what conditions are you seeing that speed? The 6700K only turbos to 4.2GHz on a single core. Under all core load it maxes out at 4.0GHz.
