Hi Guys,

So I have got a really old machine and I want to be able to edit 4K video and also play games without having to use Low settings and still get less than 30fps! lol

I currently have i7-4790, 16gb DDR3 RAM, GTX 980Ti 6GB

I am looking at the following for my first build:

AMD Ryzen 9 3900X Gen3 12 Core AM4 CPU/Processor with Wraith Prism RGB Cooler

Corsair Vengeance RGB PRO Black 16GB 3600 MHz AMD Ryzen Tuned DDR4 Memory Kit

EVGA GD 600 Watt Power Supply

Gigabyte NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2070 SUPER 8GB GAMING OC 3X Turing Graphics Card

Patriot 1TB NVME

The issue I am having is choosing the motherboard. I know I should probably wait for the X570 Tomahawk but I would like to see opinions on other options. I have seen bad reviews of MSI boards for VRMs so I am a little lost where to go. 5.1 audio built in would also be amazing so I don't have to get a sound card down the line.

I am based in the UK and my budget is around £1500 max.

Any advice would be amazing. I have watched the $900 Ryzen gaming build and tbh all the other build guides.

The tomahawk is a good board, but it does't exactly make the other boards it competes with suddenly bad. You can reasonably use an X570 TUF or Aorus board and still get great performance out of your chip.

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Primary PC:

i7 8086k - EVGA Z370 Classified K - G.Skill Trident Z RGB - WD SN750 - Jedi Order Titan Xp - Hyper 212 Black (with RGB Riing flair) - EVGA G3 650W - dual booting Windows 11 and Fedora Linux - Black and green theme, Razer brainwashed me.

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

PSU tier list

How many watts do I need?

I've just seen the Asrock Steel series on the tier list and it doesn't seem too bad. Have you heard any reviews on this?

Yeah its so bad!

This is my system information - I got drug dealer simulator and I have to play it on low settings and even then I get really bad frame lag/drops.

Are you able to check what your GPU and CPU usage is during the game?
Do other games also run this poorly?
