Multi pc port forwarding

Mick Naughty

Basically I game on both pc’s.
I port forwarded my main pc and it’s fine. But the other is still moderate.

When I go in the route and setup the ports, I have to assign a pc(ip) with them.
So I can’t add the same port and assign it to another pc because it tells me I already have that port opened.

So isn’t there another type of forward I’m supposed to do to fix this. I’m not sure it will allow me to forward the port with assigning a pc. I guess that’s the main issue.

The router is an Asus Rt-Ac66r.

Why are you port forwarding? Port forwarding is for allowing outside connections access to a port on your PC despite being behind a router, you don't need to do that to play games.

¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I do when nat is strict or moderate. It is needed. Or else I wouldn’t be doing it.

Alright then. But to answer your question, you can't assign the same port to forward to two different destinations, so you need to use different ports for each computer.

As above you can't forward the same port to multiple destinations.

UPNP usually resolves this by dynamically opening different ports for each PC but it largely depends on the game.  You'd also want to make sure UPNP doesn't listen on the WAN interface by doing something similar to the 'GRC ShieldsUp UPNP Exposure Test'

Just trying to play the new cod. From what I’ve seen it’s the same info as all the others.
