So I got an Asus X570-P mobo not too long ago and I have recently been having issues with all the usb ports rear and front disconnect at random times. I have looked on google and tried a few things that it has suggested but still hasn't worked. I have done a bios update and a fresh install of windows 10. My previous mobo (ASRock X570 Phantom Gaming 4) never had this issue.

Ryzen 5 3600X

Asus X570-P

Corsair Vengence RGB Pro 16GB 3200Mhz

GTX 1060 6GB (MSI 6GT OC)

Corsair CX750M PSU

Weird.  Could you describe the issue in more detail?  What gets em going again?

Not a pro, not even very good.  I’m just old and have time currently.  Assuming I know a lot about computers can be a mistake.

Just disconnects every port then a second later they are back on.

They reconnect by themselves.  No action on your part then?  When they do this do they not appear in the OS as recognized peripherals or is there just a pause where they temporarily don’t function?

No action on my part at all, just randomly off then a second they are back on. If I remember correctly windows also makes a disconnect and reconnect sound.

I’m wondering if the cables are actually physically disconnecting. I’ve got an occasional problem like this but what it has and always turns out to be is the usb hub I use for my peripherals gets hit by something.

I have an Anker wall powered 10 port usb hub. Could that be a possible issue?

If you keep hitting the cable with something, sure.

Hmm the cable is very rarely touched.

Same with my hub, or so I thought.  You touch the keyboard and mouse though and they’re connected.  If one of the port connections on it are weak it may only take a little wiggle.  I solved my problem by adding one of those cable holders right in front of it.  YMMV.

I only have a usb and and some wires for charging as the hub is powered which are not touched when I am on. Usually I am watching tv or on my sim rig.

In any case it’s testable.  Bypass the hub and if the problem goes away, there you go.
