I have had my ASUS PG248Q for a little over a year now and I just now came across an article saying I should have vsync on. I have always heard that vsync introduces input lag and it should not be used. Also, I read that you should cap your fps at 3 under the max for the screen. But I've also heard that uncapping your fps makes games more responsive because the gpu is adjusting the game quicker. Then there's the NULL. I've turned that to Ultra since getting a 9900k for Christmas. What would you say are the best settings for gsync? I want to take advantage of it because it feels like a waste not to. Thanks

The article I read was https://blurbusters.com/gsync/gsync101-input-lag-tests-and-settings/14/

Basically:

Shooters - all off to avoid any additional lag from any form of sync

All the rest - G-sync on + cap below max refresh rate to always have FPS in G-Sync range and have nice smooth image.

Overall Gsync does not add that much lag (from what I have read over the years and from personal experience) therefore, you can leave it on for most shooters as well.

As for NULL, based on Nvidia you should always have it on to reduce latency for games where fps is between 60-100, but I personally never used it, maybe others have opinion and personal experience on that.

At the end, use what you feel comfortable with :)

Gsync shines in shooters. There is no lag caused be Gsync.
