Computer powers up, but won't display.

So recently, my computer has started acting up. I would shut it down when I went to bed, and then the next morning, it wouldn't turn on. The motherboard would start blinking as it posted, the fans would start spinning and the graphics card would light up, but it wouldn't display anything. My solution was to unplug the computer for a couple minutes, and then when I plugged it back in it would work fine. It kept happening, and my solution kept working, but I knew something was wrong. Today, I went to wake it up after finishing dinner, and while usually it woke up fine, it didn't. everything lit up and started spinning, but no display. So i tried a couple things: I replaced the motherboard battery, I reseated the RAM, and I even tried just doing the unplugging thing that worked in the past, but all for naught, it wouldn't work. does anything know what's wrong and how to fix it? I really need help, I have classes, and my finals are coming up fast. Thanks in advance.

Tried resetting the BIOS?
Power off system > pull out power plug > remove battery from motherboard > wait 1 minute > place battery > put in power plug > start.
