Is a preamp enough?

Go to solution Solved by The Flying Sloth,

The 2i2 is a recording interface which includes Digital to Analogue Converters for turning USB digital audio signal into an analogue waveform (for speakers and headphones) as well as ADC for turning your mic signal into a digital signal (for your computer).

Now to use this as a streaming setup you will of course need a microphone among other things, here's a synopsis of things to keep in mind and a link to my personal favourite gear in a given price bracket.
Personally I'd suggest some of the low end Behringer stuff over a Scarlett from both my personal experience and the experience of others I've worked with in the past but in the end how you spend your money is up to you,

First of all, I'm new to all this DACs and PREAMPs audio interfaces so if I say something cringey, pls forgiv me.

So I've been thinking of buying the Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 and that is just a preamp, and almost every video about preamp and dac I watched says that the preamp and dac that is built-in on the mobo sucks big time so they said that you should buy a dedicated preamp and dac, so most of them recommend the Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 but when I go to focusrite website it says that the 2i2 is just a preamp.

So I was wondering if I plug in the 2i2 to my pc is enough for a banging streaming setup, really looking forward to y'all response. Thanks in advance.
