Help with storage device

Can I only use an M.2 SSD as a storage device? The one I'm using has 2 TB(Intel 660p) of storage so it has enough space but I want to make sure I won't need an HDD or other storage device with it. I'm sorry if this is an obvious question, I'm ordering the parts for my first PC and I want to be sure of what I'm getting. Thanks in advance.
