T5500 RAM error

When ever I boot up my T5500 it says there is a RAM failure on DIMM2. I know that there is not though because it reads as functioning in the BIOS and in windows. I do not know what is wrong with it.

Are you sure? According to the spec sheet, it says it will. Also the chipset does. The T3500 supports Westmeres. I just want to know because I want to buy one. Will the T7500 mobo support those?

Ah ok, also there are youtube videos on it as well. What about the W3670? I did not have much luck it, but maybe I missed a step.

The W3670 came from a T3500. It does not seem to work in my T5500 mobo. I will look at some 5600 CPUs for it. Can I overclock it in any way? Also when I swap the CPUs do I have to reinstall the RAM?

I think the T5500 has a 5520 chipset while the T3500 mobo has an X58 chipset. That may explain it.

Alright, then. Sorry for all of my questions, I have never used a Dell like this before. Also whenever I try to boot into windows it does says machine check exception. It does not boot into windows.

Oh, now I need new RAM. Oh well. I will try some new stuff. Does windows 10 support ECC Reg?

I am trying to boot with different RAM now. It still says RAM failure in DIMM2. I do not what the issue is.

Yes, but I have reason to believe it is the CPU RAM controller. It seems that xeons have issues with their mc's. I saw a video on the symptoms and this was one of them.

I tried that. I will try an new CPU. Do you think that is it? It seems to be the most reasonable thing.

Ok so my ECC REG is not working at all. I have ECC-Unbuffered that works fine without any errors. I think that rules out the possibility of a dead mobo. I replaced the CPU and it really did not make a difference with the RAM. I still got the error. I think that rules out the CPU. The ECC-Unbuffered so far is the only one that works right. Maybe one stick is dread and it causes the other ones to not work right? Should I try buying MORE memory?
