You can use any ram that fits technically. What ram does your mobo use? DDR3? DDR4? Is there enough space beside your cooler?

 

For almost all applications these are basically the only things you need to know.

At me or quote me, I want to hear your opinion.

 

Hopefully anything I say is factually correct. Sorry for any mistakes in advanced.

So even though its a hp prebuilt any ddr2 ram that physically fits will work

Sorry for the late response. If your system is using ddr2, then I see no reason why any "normal" ddr2 dimms wouldn't work.
