chipset Intel 5520 Xeon Support

I have a Dell Precision T5500 mobo and a W3670 Xeon. It does not seem to work right. Another Xeon works fine, which leads me believe that the mobo is good. Would an outdated bios be it? Any help would be great as this is my primary PC.

Might as well try updateing the bios.

It says that there is no CPU. The BIOS is years out of date. Do you think that updating it will fix it? The CPU came 1 year after the mobo.

Yea, the x6xx cpus as westmere so you need a newer bios to use them.

Ok, thank you so much!!!! Also when I swaped the mobos windows did not work, is that normal?
