Hey Guys! I have been running a setup of MSI B350 PC Mate with a ryzen 5 1400 with a GTX 1050 TI Strix for about a year now, I am wanting to upgrade to ideally a ryzen 5 2600 but i am worried about BIOS. My mobo bios is American Megatrends A.EO. Thats what comes up whichever method i use of searching for it. Does anyone know if this bios is able to handle this cpu? Or would i be better going to a 1600?

Go for the 2600 if you dont care for the price difference. The 1600AF and the 2600 are basically the same zen+ processor but the 1600AF is slightly underclocked so If you are looking for something that perfoms on par with the 2600 yet cheaper go for the 1600AF. Regarding the BIOS u would need to upgrade it before buying a new cpu. U have to have at least version A.D0. BIOS updates are nowadays easy and safe as long as you dont loose power while flashing.

Download the latest BIOS from MSi's website (non-beta version if you wish), and flash it onto your motherboard.

Update the BIOS with your Ryzen 1400 still installed on the motherboard.

BIOS files are located under Support >> BIOS >> AMI BIOS.

Is it an option to not upgrade now? Ryzen 4000 will be released later this year, you might not be able to buy them but their release will also lead to lower price for the 2000 and 3000 series.
