battery operated? yeeesh!. ..youll want actual powered ones. and if your only doing 2 cameras theres a lot of security dvr's you can go with. so you will be running wires. a lot of dvrs the line going to camera has it all built into it, video and power. or you can go the wireless route on the camera (more expensive) and just worry about suppkying power closer to the camera

hmmmm.....there are no user reviews. a couple of fake ones (reviews were posted before release)
a couple of sites reviewed it and they seem to like it but again no user reviews
and i just cant see a battery lasting 1 year before charge. unless the battery itself only lasts a year before replace lol

edit

home depot had a couple reviews this one says it all

The battery life is at half charge after two weeks of use. If the camera is placed in a high activity location and you want to record all activity and send notifications to your phone you will have to charge the camera several times a year. If your camera is placed in a location that has very low activity it may last 365 days. Time will tell!

@circeseye yea im not trying to run wires for either ethernet or power so battery operated would be most preferred. with the dvr set up there isnt wifi based communication between the dvr and cameras.

there isnt wifi based communication between the dvr and cameras?

Do you know of any good brands in the category

my friend bought the hiseeu wireless 8 camera one (cameras need power thou) and used it on a 1 acre property and worked very well. even night vision was good.

but yea if your wanting full on battery ran, thats a smaller nitch market. so research like crazy before buying one and make sure its a site you can return it to easy enough (like amazon) in case you dont like it
