Just recently i went from a Ryzen 5 1600 to a Ryzen 7 3700x. I updated my motherboard's (GIGABYTE GA-AB350-Gaming 3) BIOS to F50a. Now, with the Ryzen 7 in my pc, every boot up sends me to a windows blue screen with different error codes such as;

UNEXPECTED KERNAL MODE TRAP

KMODE EXCEPTION NOT HANDLED

SYSTEM THREAD EXCEPTION NOT HANDLED

IRQL NOT LESS OR EQUAL

DRIVER IRQL NOT LESS OR EQUAL (what failed: NETIO.SYS)

I'm at a loss on what to do, how can i fix this?

your BIOS update failed. Did you update through the BIOS itself or via Windows?

I updated through Gigabytes website. I updated windows to latest version. I check both processors and both are on bios f40. Ryzen 7 still stuck on blue screen loop on boot up, ryzen 5 still works. This is very frustrating. I got a pop up in the bios that says "clear cmos informarion" i dont know how to do that. Didnt think there was so many steps to this, and i cant find any clear information on what im doing wrong or right.

from the above message i see that you're still on f31 bios version...you need to be on f40 or newer to use the 3700x...

you can follow this video to update the bois...basically just download the latest bios (F50a) to a thumb drive...restart the pc .... enther the bios...q flash.... update bios...select the file and start...

to clear cmos you have to make sure there is no power coming from the psu...remove the cmos battery and wait 5 minutes and put it back...or you can use the cmos jumper at the bottom right of this motherboard...
