Hello, my friend is buying an office laptop for about 500€. The laptop will be mainly used standalone. The market for this kind of price is quite big and I am frankly lost in it. Any tip would be greatly appreciated.

Must:

  • 13-15" (1080p or better)
  • No external GPU
  • Good keyboard
  • Windows compatible
  • SSD

Nice:

  • Quiet
  • Good touchpad

I would love to find something balanced. I don't see any need for a very strong CPU that will only cause heating/sound problems. Yet I don't see any reason not to buy something more then capable of doing something more without any major drawbacks.

Those are not quiet nor are they reliable. They're very low end consumer models. No point in buying trash tier when he can afford business class

HP ProBook 440/450 G7 or Dell Vostro 5490/5590

Best business-class devices for that money.

If you can, I'd get a ThinkPad E490 or E590 but those cost a bit more

I would love an idea of such a business-class device, specially dell, but that is no way near the budget range.
