Should I overclock?

Just finished my first gaming rig with a Ryzen 5 3600, 1660 super, and 16gb 2x8gb 3200 ram. I've been playing games and I like the performance I'm getting but I was wondering if there's any reason to overclock my 1660 super. I don't need  any additional performance but I wouldn't mind more if it's worth it

If you're content with the current performance there's really no need to. If you want to see what your card is capable of it wouldn't hurt to give it a go.

 

Just fire up a software like Kombuster and incrementally up the clocks until you reach a stable OC and adjust the fan curve to go with it.

 

Make sure to set your power and temperature limit to the max to give it the most headroom possible.

You can. I know it can do around +600 MHz on memory and probably +125 MHz on core. The 16X0 graphics cards are memory bandwidth limited, so you really want to overclock the memory, but don't push it too far to the point artifacts start appearing in stress tests. Artifacts get worse with heat, so leave some headroom.

Just fire up a software like Kombuster and incrementally up the clocks until you reach a stable OC and adjust the fan curve to go with it.

 

Make sure to set your power and temperature limit to the max to give it the most headroom possible.
