Sadly even after installing the new chipset drivers and with everything closed in the background . i still have problems with my frame rate .

And even now , I installed AMD Ryzen master just to view on what my cpu is doing . and i just found out that my EDC Is at max.

Do you have any idea what it could mean? im just idle on my pc

That is strange behavior. If you are only idling, PPT, TDC, and EDC should all be low. According to a few forum posts, that behavior is caused by the power plan you just enabled, so I assume it is safe. If you go back to the Balanced power plan and see the EDC drop, then that is what it is. However, my Ryzen 3000 processor does not exhibit this behavior, even with the Ryzen High Performance plan enabled.

Now, I don't know if this is safe, but you can try to simply increase your EDC limit to something higher by selecting Precision Boost Overdrive. Without configuring the BIOS, the limit on most motherboards is 255, and for my Ryzen 5 3600, it is perfectly safe to run very high limits, up to 255. You can try raising your EDC slowly and watching temperatures to make sure your processor doesn't overheat in case adjusting PBO values has different behavior with older Ryzen processors. At this point, you're basically fine tuning your processor, which is a rabbit hole in and of itself. But hey, all in the name of stable frame rates.

Alright so i need some help figuring out something .

I made a pc build that i thought would be good enough to run doom eternal on Ultra Nightmare.

The problem is im getting fps drop like crazy . And i dont know if its cause of something not being compatible .

Not having enough power? Or my specs just suck . Can someone shine some light on this situation .

Im Avg 60-80 Frames on Ultra Nightmare Settings with or without v-sync on.

My mobo is up to date . My gpu is up to date

What is my problem??

My build:

Monitor : 144HZ (G-SYNC Enabled)

CPU : Ryzen 2700x (Stock Speeds)

GPU : RTX 2060 6GB (Stock Speeds)

RAM : 16 GB (2X8) Vengeance PRO DDR4 3000MHZ  ( D.O.C.P Enabled )

Mobo : Rog strix b450-f gaming

PSU : RM850X

SSD / HD - 125gb SSD (O.S Installed ) 1-TB HD (Games)

If you are running any on-screen overlays or even Discord in the background with hardware acceleration enabled, those can cause frame drops in games. Your specs look good, but I can only guess it might be conflicting background software.

Also, have you tried switching to the Ryzen High Performance power plan? If you installed your chipset drivers, those should show up in your power plans control panel.

Where would i find the setting to change Ryzen High Performance power plan.  Do i need to download a 3rd party software? Or is a windows setting i can change .

It is a windows setting you can change. Use the start menu to search for "Choose a power plan" and you should see it. If you don't see "AMD RyzenTM High Performance" as an option, you can either try using just High Performance, or go ahead and install your motherboard chipset drivers and trying again.

My power plans control panel is a little bit busy, but basically this is what you're looking for.

Unfortunately, I cannot tell you, as I do not know how to do that. However, regardless of your chipset driver, you can always install newer chipset drivers over older drivers.

Even on my system, which is a 5ghz 8700k and a 5700xt, at 1440p I play on high settings and sometimes I will drop into the 70s.

I don't even play on ultra nightmare.
