Model: iMac 21.5 mid 2011

os: macOS High Sierra

Keyboard: Lenovo USB netvista full width keyboard

Mouse: apple TouchPad.

I've tried the following solutions online:

1keyboard: I don't have a Bluetooth keyboard, using an android phone to act as a keyboard just result in repeated disconnects.

Virtualkvm: the program starts but nothing happens.

Karabiner-elements: online tutorials uses an older UI which looks different to the current version. Setting function keys to F1, F2 ends with me receiving the alert sound when I hit cmd+F2 on the login screen.

I can confirm the thunderbolt 2 to HDMI port works because it can output video to another monitor.

Terminal: nothing.
