Hey Guys,

I am looking for a laptop for when I start uni next year. I am doing a bachelors in mathematics, so i'd like at least some horsepower for when I will need it. I have about 750 euros to spend and live in the Netherlands. Touchscreen is not a must for me, but I would love to have a numpad on the keyboard. About 14'' - 15.6'' will do the trick. Ive found a lenovo laptop with a ryzen 7 cpu, only issue with it is that it runs single channel memory, with no expansion possible. Looking forward to hearing your guys' input.

Are you planning on running games or anything more intensive than excel?

In any case, wait for Ryzen 4000 series CPUs to be more widely available as only a few laptops have them at the moment. They're vastly more powerful than anything Intel at the moment

Do we have any idea when the 4000 series will be common in laptops? If it's Q4 2020 it might be hard to do because of when the year starts.

More like Q2-Q3. Aka summertime

Ill need to run some Matlab and do some programming, and would like to run some games, but that miiiight be a bit hard to fit into budget.

4700U would be perfect. The Vega iGPU is as powerful as a 1050 Max Q
