I have Astro A50's and for some reason they cause all USB's to disconnect and reconnect immediately after on a frequent basis (once every minute or so). Sometimes, the headset will disconnect and not reconnect with the error : Device descriptor request failed. I've tested my brothers A50's on my PC and the same problem occurs, which tells me its something to do with one of my PC parts. Within the last month, I bought a more powerful PSU, replaced my motherboard (Asus sent me the same model, but new), uninstalled and reinstalled windows, disassembled and reassembled my PC, and the followed a list of fixes I've been recommended from support pages of Asus, Astro, and Intel. None of these have fixed my problem. What I know for a fact is that it is the Astro A50, a USB audio device, causing the problem (my PC works fine when it's not plugged in. It seems to occur more frequently when I'm playing games or doing something that requires more CPU/GPU usage. I've had this problem for a year or so now, so literally any input would be very much appreciated.

Things I've tried:

  • Hard restarting my headset
  • Switching channels for my WIFI
  • Updating all of the drivers on my PC
  • Reinstalling Windows
  • Trying other plugin options, including a powered USB hub
  • Updating my BIOS
  • Turning off selective suspend
  • Disallowing the PC to turn off the USB devices to save power
  • Disabled/uninstalled all other sound drivers

My Specs:

  • Intel i5-8400
  • MSI GTX 1050-ti
  • Asus TUF Z370-PLUS GAMING mobo
  • Vengence LPX 2x8GB 2400Mhz
  • Corsair CX650M PSU
