Is This Safe? SSD Cable Insertion

Go to solution Solved by LukaP,

if i were you, id put a spacer under it, just to be shure

Hey Guys,

Just finished my build, installed my system and using it now. But I'm not sure if this is safe or if I'm looking for a dead drive.

I couldn't for the life of me get this in properly, thanks to the cables that came with the Corsair CX600M and after much frustration and anger, caved and just booted it up.

If you guys could let me know whether this will be ok or not, it would be much appreciated.

Thanks to everyone in advance for replying.

It should be, Just don't pull on the cable

You should be ok, but dont be surprised if you hit your case and the cable falls out.

Thanks for getting back to me guys.

I seriously wish I'd thought of putting spacers or at least some rubber dampers between the case and it... It never occurred to me because I was so annoyed.

I need to take the whole thing apart to do that, but I will at some point over the next week.

Thanks again guys.

I have rubber spacers for sound damping, it's the Fractal Define R4, came with a bunch of spacers and rubber bits for damping, but was so angry at the time, I never thought of using them.

Thanks again dude.

I have that in a PS08b, can't put spaces because that's where the SSD gets screwed down. Hasn't been a problem for me, just make sure the connector is pushed in as far as it can go.

Couldn't sleep tonight unless I fixed it.

Thanks again to everyone that replied and to everyone that suggested washers, etc.
