I'm planning on upgrading my motherboard and CPU. Bought a Gigabyte X570 Aorus Elite and Ryzen 9 3900x. Got them in the other day and when I went install the CPU into the motherboard, I noted the CPU socket was a little floppy(See attached) If you look close enough, you can see a small crack.

Any fix to this? I have already submitted a ticket to Gigabyte alsoMobo_issue_2.thumb.jpg.22aa0e9231ddcae252303567899c09c5.jpg

no if the cpu socket is not perfectly alinged you could risk bending pins/pins not connecting if you try to reset it

you could do something sketchy but its not worth risking your cpu/having gigabyte invalidating your warranty

get gigabyte to send you a new board

Where did you buy the board from?

NewEgg? Amazon?

You can just ask the retailer to send you a replacement if it still within the 14-day / 30-day period.

Don't need to go through Gigabyte yet if it is still within 14 / 30 days.
