BUDGET

My preferred budget: around NZ$1000 (one thousand New Zealand dollars)

AIM:

I would like this computer to be upgradable in the near future

I would like an AMD and NVIDIA Build (AMD CPU, NVIDIA RTX or GTX GPU)

Keep in mind that this computer would be for streaming (sometimes), recording and 3D gaming (e.g. CSGO, Minecraft, etc.)

I don't use powerful video editors.

MONITORS:

I have 2 monitors. they are 1080p.

I do not need any monitors with this list

PERIPHERALS:

I don't need any monitors with this list

WHY AM I UPGRADING?

I am upgrading because my computer is really old and slow.
NOTES:

I might not get this for a while, so I'd like it to be a atleast bit future-proof.

I know a lot about computer building, I just don't know where to look to get good components.

Please put it in a PC Part Picker list

Please reply if you want to ask me anything

Please do not add sketchy PSU's to the list. (I'd like a 1000w EVGA PSU, but any 550+ watt EVGA PSUs are good enough for me, aslong as it's compatible)
I'd like a case with RGB fans

I might also once decide to overclock

your budget is way to low for the build your describing

I mean your 1000w evga psu is 333 dollars

the cheapest rtx gpu is like $500

I would recommend either revising your budget or going with a 3200g and buying a gpu later/buying one used

With that budget you should probably look into used hardware or local deals. It might be that part picker doesn't work well for New Zealand. I have the same problem in Germany where part picker is always more expensive than idealo or geizhals websites that do price comparison for the German market.

The used market down here is terrible. There aren't many tech savvy people here so most people don't sell old computers that us geeks are interested in. There's always ebay but the shipping costs way too much. PC Part picker works fine down here, it's just that everything is so expensive, but that's the case with most countries except the USA and Canada. I've heard the UK is good for deals too.

Yes, and when there is a good deal, it always ends like 5 minutes after you see it especially on trademe

It's ok, I will probably change the PSU to an EVGA one even though it would be more expensive. I will put it in my list

Oh yeah and used parts here are way overpriced even when you do find them. I remember I was bidding on something like an i5-4570 and I was in a bidding war and I just let the guy win, he payed over $100 for it. My 3200G costed $140, way better value.

And the only way you can get deals is on like cyber monday or something but those only make the really expensive items like $50 less expensive. It's unfair

I've read somewhere that people bought in the US and paid less with shipping than regular NZ prices for certain items, might be worth checking out.

But then shipping here is also expensive, so it would be easier and cheaper to ship from Australia

Yeah possibly, it's just something I picked up on some forum. The point the guy was making was that some hardware is that much cheaper in the US, that the shipping cost didn't exceed the difference in price. I believe Australia has the same higher prices that NZ does though, so that's cheaper to ship but might end up costing more in total. I can't quite remember but I think he said it was cheaper to buy RAM that way, but not CPU or something along those lines. But yeah I obviously don't know and I can't really check myself if that is true or not. Totally up to you of course if you wanna check all the components in the US again or not, but I thought it was worth mentioning.
