I have a question that i have been unable to find answers to and am unable to test with my equipment on hand.

My PC is in a rack in the basement,  I have several extended cables running up 2 floors to my bedroom to run monitors and peripherals.

I am starting to wonder if they are causing my to get pown'd in online games.

For my peripherals on the top floor i am running a 20m  USB extension cable - it has 2 repeater modules along the cable length.

At one point i was using  USB over ethernet but thought it was buggy... turned out to be my razer mouse dying... AGAIN.

For my VR setup in the basement i use a 5m UGREEN active extension cable it has no repeaters and is good for VR.

Would there be a latency difference with extended USB cable with 2 repeaters on it?
If so, how much?  or, vs USB over ethernet?

Secondly,

For my 55" Samsung TV/Monitor on the top floor, connected to the rack in the basement using HDMI over Ethernet

The tv has a 10ms response time in game mode at 1080p... but is the HDMI extender adding more?

I also have a 20m fiber optic Displayport cable running from the basement to my 2nd monitor on the top floor

https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B00V7NOYDI/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I used to use another hdmi over ehternet adapter for this monitor but it died due to a static shock.

Once again my VR in the basement uses an extension cable but its fiber optic based - 5m

https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B07XQC9T2L/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1

And again if its good for VR...

So how much difference does it make from using HDMI over ethernet vs Fiber Optic based cables?

How much does picking the right solution matter?

The one minor issue that i have come across with fiber optic cables, is they do not have any power on the far end of the cable to run active adapters, such as a 20m displayport cable, then a displayport to HDMI active adapter wont work.
the active adapter is relying on power from the source cable, but on the fiber optic cables, that power is being used for the optical to electrical conversion. and not enough left over for adapter cables.

Lastly, between my fiber displayport cable and my monitory i have an externally powered, 3 port MST hub

would this add latency too?
