Ok, so i just set up 2 480 GB Crucial Sata SSDs in Raid 0 setup using AMD RAIDXpert2 drivers on a rog B450-F mobo. Copying a bunch of files from a very fast m.2 SSD It was off to a good start at way past the single SATA bottleneck. But very quickly it dropped and stabilized at a disappointing <100MBps speed =( Could there be something wrong with the raid setup?

This is not the first time i see Drive speeds flat line like this tho. Is there something else that cause this ?

Might just be unable to sustain high read/write speeds for extended periods of time.

BX-

To be precise.

@crunchy Dragon. Unstable how? One of the disk is a little older than the other even though they are the same. Could that be a factor? Seams a little pointless to use RAID0 if it doesn't increase the speed..

Ok, little update: trying out the disk a little further they do for the most part achieve much higher speeds, but it's varying a lot. But as i said, this is not the first time i've seen disks act like this, Raid or not, spinning or SSD, so stil very curious to understand what's causing it. Unstable read write speed? Is the disk simply broken then or is there something you can do to fix it? Since the problem is inconstant, but ironically once it occures the speed is very stable but very slow. Is some software kicking in and limiting it to the slowest speed for stability ?

Another thing i noticed is although the disks are faster boot times have become MUUUCH longer with this upgrade. Even when i turn raid off. could this be because one disk is unresponsive ? If not i installed a lot of new drivers at the same time that might be causing it.
