Hmm.. That's odd..

Hello LTT forum members.

I just pulled my phone out of my jacket and thought

"Hey.. i thought this phone used to be slimmer.. wait a minute.. why is the back bulging!?"

Turns out the battery has expanded a bit

If you own a galaxy s3/xcover you may notice a slight difference. The battery has expanded about a millimeter in thickness...

 

The light is pretty poo.. but it's atleast slightly visible on camera. And i won't be taking any more pictures since i don't feel comfortable handling it more than nessesairy.

Has anyone seen anything like this before? how common is this?

Ummm, what? Idk how that happened but I'd recommend you get a new battery ASAP, before it starts leaking.

Switched phones immediately when i noticed it.. back to an old slider phone. And the battery was already leaking so i threw it out

Yeh, not too good to be using a phone with a leaking battery.

amazon or ebay, get a battery or a dual pack or be an idiot like my brother and get 5 batteries for shits and giggles.

Yeah, I'd dispose of that as quickly as you can. They've been known to progress from the 'overweight' stage to the 'exploded and on fire' stage. I have first hand experience of this, and the burns to prove it.

It was already discharging really quickly before that (5 hours of idle on a good day) so i guess it was inevitable

I'm done with samsung for the time being. It's not worth wasting money on a phone that came fully loaded with bloatware.. Gonna try blackberry before they go bankrupt

 

I have a 9300mah battery for my note 2 from zerolemon so I would recommend you to buy one from them they have excellent warranty too.. 6 months~ warranty

 

i won't be wasting any more money on this :P

 

I`ve seen one similar samsung battery too, it seems that is a common problem with some samsung batteries.

 

I'll see if i have more luck with a different manufacturer. Right now im rocking the classic nokia xD

Yeah it is common with phones with removable batteries first i saw a blackberry with that problem and now my brother's 2 year old galaxy ace it is in its 3rd battery. Maybe samsung has some kind of programed obsolescence to their batteries. Now i don't care about non removable battery phones because they are more sealed in and less exposed to handeling.
