Have you formated the drive and assigned it a drive letter? 

This is done in Disk manager, but Iøm a bit condused by the way you worded your post, so I don't know if you have already tried that.

got it figured out.  thanks for trying. i had to do a new volume?

You need to quote someone for them to know that you have replied to their comment.
