Hey! What do you have against Zalman? 馃ズ This PSU is at least 4 years old! It's probably way past its warranty time by now. Not cool man. Not cool.

Nothing really they just had a line of crappy led psu's that a lot of people got cuz led and then you end up with these problems. I've replaced plenty of em as they were popular years ago and well crap and failed readily as they were used in gaming systems because of the led lights.

I am currently still using their zalman z9 case from over a decade ago. Decent case but crappy hdd mounting and weird spacing. The fans did suck as most died after 2 years part from the rear fan that's still going to this day.

Fair enough. But how about now, are they any better now?

I personally don't fall (easily) for the bling. I prefer function and quality over bling. I don't change components very often, so I like to save up and then cash out on the best that money can buy, and they usually last for a very long time. I was not aware that Zalman had such crappy PSUs. But I don't have any experience from them. My experience with Zalman is only with their CPU coolers and fan controllers, and I have not had any issues with those.

Zalman doesn't make their psu's these are made by a different company and then they slap their name on it. That's why they had a couple good ones and a lot of bad ones as they are a budget focused brand with a couple items in the higher end. You always have to look at the individual product and not the company to see if it is actually of any quality or not.

I agree, you have to look at every individual product, read a couple of reviews and tests before you buy and so on.

People do tend to go by the brand rather than doing their research before they buy. Which is unfortunate when companies neglect to protect the brand name and image.
